Yumi Ito is considered one of the most original and interesting voices in contemporary jazz. The award-winning artist with Polish-Japanese roots, based in Basel, Switzerland, transitions easily between genres and roles as a singer, pianist and composer, creating soundscapes without boundaries with her voice. Her music is correspondingly diverse, a veritable ocean of art-pop, jazz and neoclassical music. She regularly sells out concert halls around the world, sharing the stage with Al Jarreau, Becca Stevens and Mark Turner.
Her career milestones include performances at the Blue Note in New York, the Montreux Jazz Festival, tours of Asia, South America and Europe, and five critically acclaimed albums to date, most recently the critically acclaimed “Ysla” (2023). Yumi Ito performs solo or with his international band, consisting of guitarist Alessio Cazzetta, bassist Nadav Erlich and “poet of drums” Iago Fernández.
