The play Hotel Sen & a concert by Dogs Can Wear Hats

The theater stage transforms into a space that exists outside the ordinary flow of time and the rush of everyday life. The production HOTEL SEN presents a unique concept of therapeutic theater that blurs the line between the audience and the stage, inviting viewers into a world where the soul is healed through storytelling.

At this hotel, a charismatic receptionist and his perceptive assistant await you. But they are not just ordinary employees; they are guides who, through the stories of the hotel guests, show what truly matters in life. HOTEL SEN is a place to pause. It is a space where we discover that it is never too late to make a life change, write to an old friend, slow down, or simply “be” there for one another in the present moment. At its core, the entire performance is a profound story about love—about the courage to close some doors for good and open others with hope.

This artistic endeavor draws on the principles of therapeutic theater, which views dramatic performance as a path to exploring and transforming our inner stories.

As Robert J. Landy aptly noted when answering the question of whether audiences seek something different in therapeutic theater: “Yes. They want to learn something. They want to become more sensitive to certain topics, such as aging, illness, otherness, or oppression—you know, things that wither and things that blossom.”

HOTEL SEN tells the story of this blossoming and natural passing. Here, the audience does not merely take on the role of observers, but becomes “witnesses.” Their task is not just to absorb the experience, but to carry its message out into the world and become its bearers in everyday life. For in this hotel, no one is a stranger, and every room key unlocks a piece of our own selves.

A repeat performance will take place on June 11 at 7:00 PM at the Jazz Tibet Club in Olomouc. It will be followed by a performance by Dogs Can Wear Hats, a rhythmic duo playing alternative country.

Come spend the evening with us and experience a night that will make you laugh, move you, and inspire you!
