Open-air concert in the Letní kino Olomouc (Pekární 26, Olomouc). In case of bad weather the concert will be moved to Jazz Tibet Club (600 m)
Mama Sutra is a London-based band that combines experimental, dance and jazz music in their unique sound. British-Nepalese drummer and composer Pharoah Russell has been an in-demand sideman for more than a decade. His latest project, Mama Sutra, however, features him as a leader. Mama Sutra specialise in feelgood, early 1970s jazz/soul/funk grooves – think Roy Ayres at his funkiest, or a jazzier version of the Average White Band – that can thoroughly captivate an audience, but they aren't afraid to take things down a bit, leavening their sets with the occasional ballad with a powerful soul ending. With their thrilling concert, Mama Sutra captivated also the audience of the prestigious London club Ronnie Scott's.
The band will perform with the following line-up:
Jackson Baird – Synth Bass/Keys
Pharoah Russell – Drums
Kaltoum El Berrah – Vocal
Anna Katherine Chai – Sax
Radim Přidal – Guitar
