Civil electronic pop about (un)ordinary things in life. One of the biggest discoveries on the Czech indie scene. Berlin-based indie-pop singer-songwriter with her debut album Greetings from Polepšovna.
At the age of nineteen Anna Vaverková left Prague to study in Berlin, where she became a member of the indie-pop band The Flavians, with whom she also played at Glastonbury. She returned to Czech in her solo project, which is more intimate, but doesn't forget the catchiness. On her EP Roztomilá holka (Vinyl Discovery of the Year 2022 nominee), she sings about stereotypes, anxieties and the search for one's own identity in a world that would prefer to keep us as simple as possible.
Anna is currently based in Berlin, where she and her classmates from BIMM Berlin University put together the band The Flavians in 2018. With this group, Anna has seen the likes of Glastonbury and the Reeperbahn festival among others. Just before the start of the covid pandemic in 2020, the band released their debut album Ordinary People in an Ordinary World, which they did not tour with due to coronavirus measures. Due to the unexpected abundance of time, Anna began writing her own songs. Due to homesickness and dissatisfaction with lyrics in English, the singer decided to create in her native language - Czech. Her debut EP Roztomilá Holka from 2022 caught the attention of the wider public and her own work earned Anna nominations for three music awards - Vinyla for Discovery of the Year, Apollo for Best Single of 2022 and Anděl Awards in the Alternative and Electronica category.
